Our Story

From an early age, I have always had an interest in creating and maintaining not only beautiful but functional outdoor spaces. I spent my summers during high school working for the grounds maintenance department at Jacksonville State University. During my time at JSU, I met a lifelong friend and mentor who introduced me to all the possibilites a professional landscape career had to offer. After graduating from Oxford High School in 2009, I attended Southern Union State Community College in Opelika, AL and  eventually transferred to Auburn University where I graduated in 2013 with a degree in Landscape Horticulture. Upon graduation, I took a job with the largest full service landscape company in the world in Atlanta, Georgia. While i learned a lot working in Atlanta, my heart was always set on owning and operating my own landscape business in my hometown and making Calhoun and surrounding counties more beautful one job at a time. In February of 2014, my wife and I decided it was time to move home and follow our dreams; that February, KirbAppeal Lawn & Landscape was born. For the next five years, my team and I installed countless landscapes, irrigation systems and firepits while maintaining 50+ commercial and residential landscapes. In 2019, I came to a crossroads in both my personal and professional lives. At this time, I decided to step away from the landscape industry and went to work building wireless sites for a national carrier. Although I wasn't directly involved in the landscape industry, the passion for creating beautiful spaces never left me which leads me to where I am today; ready to rekindle former relationships, build new ones, and once again do my part to make North East Alabama a beautiful place.
